All American Car Show ... Sep 29/07

On Monday the 24th I just happen to cruise over the Armand's Upholstery shop in Walnut Creek, where Black Widow 2 was dressed. My purpose was to waste time. It was the end of the day and I really didn't want to start any new projects. Armand maintains a bulletin board of show flyers and will make a copy of any of the filers you want. I noted the All American Car Show in Vallejo that coming Saturday and asked him about the show. He said, "It's a nice show. I'm going with several of my customers. You should go." It was to late to pre-enter so I called and reserved my spot.

Saturday morning came and I was up early and on my way. It was cold but who cares ... I was off to a car show to relax and have some low-keyed fun. I noted when I arrived that I was the 3rd car there and got an up-front parking spot. I like to park near the awards table and the band, or DJ in this case. A prefect spot ... yet again!

The cars started coming in, and in a little while, Armand and his pals drove in ... like a parade. I walked over to where "they" parked as a group and Armand said, "Oh! I forgot to tell you that we were all meeting at my shop to caravan together. Sorry about that." What a friend, huh? But hey, I got a better spot ... so there! Take that and dip it in oil.

It was a nice show and a great day and the DJ and food were excellent. And to my surprise, I won the Best Nostalgia Award and was runner up for Best of Show. Wow ... Black Widow 2 is the gift that keeps on giving.
