Billetproof ... Sep 15/07

In August, a month before this show, I was going to attend the Goodguys West Coast Nationals, and I was going to invite my friend Ken Knutson along for the ride. Ken is always going it alone, like myself, so I thought it'd be fun to hang out together. Unfortunately, after setting it up with Ken, I had an angina attack. I had a heart attack in 2005 during the build of Black Widow 2 so I knew this was not good and could result in yet another operation. Fortunately, my heart was fine ... it was my meds. To make a long story short, I cancelled the WCNs and the fun Ken and I would have had that weekend.

A month later I felt a whole lot better so I called Ken and lined up Billetproof. The morning of the event Ken was there and we took off. In short ... we had a blast ... a great time.

This years' billetproof was one of the best ever ... always a good show but they had over 1,000 cars ... all really nicely built ... lots of variety ... the food was great and the bands rocked. And the girls! Well, everywhere you looked you saw sun dresses in pokka dots, lace stockings, 1940's hair dos and make up, and lots and lots of tattoos. Again, these were the girls! The guys were... well... black shirt, Levi’s, work boots, belt chains, duck tails, goatees ... and a beer!

The show was a winner, and once again Black Widow 2 won an award. This time it was Best Interior. I was stoked and was sure that Armand (Armand's Upholestry) would be thrilled. Subsequently, he was.
