Goodguys 20th West Coast Nationals ... Aug 26/06

Day two ... Saturday. Once again I get to the show around 10 ish. I first buzz over to the model car display / contest to attach some stickers to my show cards. You see, my hand writing sucks, so I printed some labels with the names of the models on display so people could read the names vs. "...what the heck are these chicken scratches."

Next stop is out back on the big lawns were cars get sorted by ... whatever ... Pro Picks, Wide Whites, Home Built Heaven, Ya'gotta Drive'em, and I've Got A Woddie ... at last! ... or something like that. I choose Wide Whites, pick up my par plaque, drive over to a spot and settle in. My buddy Ken drops by and we chill out, wherein I take the opportunity to whipe down the truck and give it a once over with some glaze.

After awhile, Ken and I walk around the show, taking photos and such. Around 2ish we head back to the truck. We get there and find a Goodguys Award Winner sticker on the headlight and a coupon on the truck floor that reads, Rodders Rep Pick! Wow ... no kidding! Twenty years of going to Goodguys West Coast Nationals and I finally win something. Oh man, this is special. Ken's totally stoked and I'm dancing around. But wait, it gets better.

Along comes Tim with Rod & Custom Magazine. Tim proceeds to put yet, another sticker on the headlight and hands me yet, another coupon that reads, Rod & Custom Top 10. Are you kidding me?! This is over the top. Is this cool or what? Ken says, "...I can't believe I was here to see this." Now we're both on cloud 9. We hop in the truck and cruise, take photos, talk cars and generally feel on top of the world ... cause we are!

Okay then ... this was a good day, too.
